10:53 am: Changing it up a bit
I have not posted in a week or so because I have been sick and my diet just went all to hell. I still have a little bit of a cold but I am doing better. I will not be going back to the gym until I am 100%. Maybe I will start again next week. I am changing the diet a little bit. Well maybe not a change but an addition. I am going to continue having a green smoothie a day and eat as much raw fruit and vegetables as I can but I am going to keep track of my intake with Weight Watchers Points. I find the points easier to keep track of my calorie intake. So today is a new start. I am having my morning smoothie as I type. It consists of 2 hand fulls spinach (0 WW points), 1 apple (1/2 WW point), 1 banana (1 1/2 WW points) and 1 orange (1/2 WW points) so total points for breakfast 2 1/2 points. My daily points allowence is 25 points.


Start Weight: 16 stone 9 lbs = 233 (MY LORD!)
10% Goal: 14. 12 = 208 lbs

09:33 am: Day 5
 This morning I got up at 9 even though I didn't got to be until around 2 a.m. I felt awake as soon as my eyes opened not groggy. I have plenty of energy in the morning, unlike before. Before I would wake at 11-12 and come down stairs and sit on the couch until 1 o'clock. Then I still didn't really want to get up but I had to because there are things to be done around the house. I didn't like sitting around the house but I didn't feel like doing anything else. So in the energy department I am feeling much better after only a few days. 

Todays smoothie is really good. The ingredients are-

2 HAND FULLS SPINACH
1 CUP COLD WATER
1 PEAR
1 BANANA
SOME FRESH PINEAPPLE

I like using the spinach because you cant taste it when mixed with the fruits and it does not leave an after taste like kale and I thought the rocket was just nasty! This combo of pear, banana, and pinapple is really good. When I was blending I tasted the mix of just pear and spinach and water. The pear give it a sweet taste that was nice. The banana adds a smooth creamy texture and the pineapple gives it a bit of a tropical twang. This is my favorite combo so far.

11:41 am: Day 4

I decided not to have a green smoothie for breakfast today. I will have it for lunch or something later. I am having a bowl of melon, apple and banana. I really wanted honey nut corn flakes but I decided on fruit instead. I am getting a bit bored with the food I have been eating.  Its has only been 4 days and I am already sick of the food. That's not good. The first few days I was alright. I think now its kicking in and I wanna eat junk. I am not going to allow myself to stray off of my diet. Gotta keep going.

 

UDATE: I didn't go to the gym today. But I did walk into town and was there for about 2 1/2 hours so thats two and a half hours of walking. So I am not bothered about the gym today. I have not done well with the diet. I had the bowl of fruit in the morning and then in the afternoon I had a big bowl of carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes but for dinner I ended up eating chicken fingers and fries. Then desert was hot chocolate. I ended up having about 1200 calories so I am still in my daily calorie range but I still should not have eaten any of that suff. I will do better tomorrow.

12:04 pm: Day 3

 I woke up this morning and I didn't feel so tried or drained. That's a good thing.
In my breakfast smoothie I put...

2 HAND FULL OF BABY SPINACH
1/2 SMALL MELON
1 ORANGE PEELED
SOME FROZEN GRAPES AND BLUEBERRY MIX

The taste today is ok but I think I should have blended it a little more because it has small bits of orange and grape in it. Its ok because the taste is not bad so I can get it down. I was full after I had 1/2 quart but I know if I leave the other half in the fridge then I won't drink it later so I am making myself drink it now. 

Lunch was left over vegetable soup from last night and melted cheese on once slice of whole wheat toast with tomatoes.

I worked out for an hour today. I felt a bit dizzy for a few minutes when I started  but it passed and I continued on. I didn't feel tired like I usually do after I have been at the gym. Usually I have to push myself to make the walk home. But today I had some things to do in town so I walked to town did my bit of shopping and then walked home.

For dinner tonight I had a huge load of steamed broccoli, steamed green beans and some left over ham (tying to get rid of that ham) I must confess I did have 2 little chocolates. They were little tiny itty bitty. But I did have them. Kinda pissed off about that now. I should not have had them. I just finished up my night with a bowl of strawberry yogurt with granola. I didn't really need that either. I just feel the need to eat even when I am not hungry. During the day I do ok but at night it gets me and I want to eat eat eat.

I am going to try to get up earlier tomorrow. I usually get up between 10-12. That's because I don't go to sleep until 2-3 a.m. most of the time. I would like to try to get up around 8:30 or 9 o'clock. We'll see how that goes.

12:32 pm: Day 2

I have just made my second green smoothie. This time I used...

2 HAND FULLS OF SPINACH
1 CUP COLD WATER
1 BANANA
1 ORANGE PEELED
1 APPLE

Its not bad. I would describe it as a watered down fruit smoothie. I dont taste the spinach at all. 

Last night I got the munchies. I did'nt really want sweet stuff but I just wanted to eat. I had some strawberry yogurt, and then a pamello (sp?) and then I had some almonds. Non of it was bad for me but I did'nt reall need it. My arms and chest are killing me from being at the gym yesterday. I may skip the gym today and just go for a good walk into town center. Not sure yet what I am going to do I may still go to the gym. I dont really feel like I have any more energy yet. It has only been one day so gotta give it time.
 

AFTERNOON UPDATE: I decided not to go to the gym its raining and I dont feel like walking in the rain. i will go for sure tomorrow rain or shine. For lunch I had cheese, rye & pumpkin seed crackers, baby carrots, baby tomatoes and celery with a bit of peanut butter on it. 

EVENING UPDATE: For dinner tonight I decided on vegetable soup. I took cabbage, carrots, celery, onion, green beans, a can of chopped tomaotes, chicken broth, some salt, pepper, and oregano. Tossed it all in a pot together and cooked until I thought it was ready to eat. I also cubed some ham we had in the fridge and heated it in a pan until warm then topped my soup bowl with it. It was yummy.

I have not really had any cravings for sweets yet. I am suprised. Don;t get me wrong if some chocolate was put in my face I would probably eat it. But so far I've been ok. When I get hungry I just try to stuff my face with veggies and fruits. Night time is when I usually crave chocolate and sweets or really just food in general. I guess thats why last night I had the yogurt and then the fruit and then the almonds because nothing satisfied me. Maybe I am having cravings. Oh well they are not too bad right now. Hopefully I do well for the rest of the night.

I started to get a bit hungry around 4 4 1/2 hours after dinner, so I had some strawberry yogurt and home made granola. That filled me up again. I don't really want to eat past 7 but I was hungry and needed/wanted something to eat. 10:30 is a bit late to be eating anything really I will try not to do this again. I need to stick to my cut off time of 7.

I weighed myself this morning and WOW how does one gain so much weight so fast? You gain weight without even knowing it. I have gained like 15 lbs since i quit Weight Watchers. So basically whatever I lost with WW I gained back. Hopefully I will stick to healthy eating and get in lots of green smoothies and exercise. I plan on going to the gym today and staying for at least 45 minutes. Ok I will report back later with how the rest of my day went. Wish me luck!

UPDATE: I worked out at the gym today for a whole hour. I thought I was going to have to force myself to stay for 45 minutes but by the time I checked my watch I had been there a hour. So YAY me! I had some melon and grapes on my way to the gym because i started to get hungry. When I got home I snacked on some baby tomatoes and then cooked dinner which was chicken fajitas with peppers, onions, tomatoes and 2 whole wheat tortillas and cucumber and baby carrots on the side. So far so good. If i get munchy later I might have some yogurt and granola or fruit.
